My teaching experience has enabled me to engage with students of a variety of different levels, from Entry Level to Level 6. This has helped me gain a good understanding of student needs and requirements at all levels. The range of students I have taught has helped to inform best practice and refine teaching strategies that can be employed in a range of teaching situations.
In my teaching practice, I try to involve many aspects of my own work and ideas to inform learning and taught skills, achieved through a variety of lectures and workshops. This ranges from traditional darkroom work, pinhole cameras and large format photographic processes to digital processes including Photoshop and image manipulation. A significant element includes the use of drawing to experiment with processes through non-traditional materials to inform ideas and concepts.
