The Swansea College of Art is working in emergent research knowledge exchange areas through three development hubs.
The Pedagogy Research Hub brings together researchers, academics and practitioners with a common interest in the interplay between research and teaching activities. The Contemporary Maker Hub is made up of a group of experimental contemporary craft practitioners and educators.
The emphasis of the research is ‘making’. Space to Make is a pilot research project with a core team of educators and practitioners united by a passion for making. The research references historical approaches and draws upon existing and emerging good practice in arts education to explore routes to best transfer tacit knowledge.
