Abstract
Eighty Days is a poem written in collaboration with the digital location application what3words. When working with non-human collaborators we are, perhaps inadvertently, establishing a mode of practice in which the cultural privilege afforded to human authorship is reoriented to formulate a new collaborative paradigm. The use of digital applications, such as what3words, has engendered a socio-digital collaboration between human and digital subjects wherein language is not simply mediated by technology, but transformed and intensified by it.

Additional Information: | col- is a new journal featuring collaborative works of poetry, non-fiction, visual art, and new media. Its name recalls the Latin prefix col-, a root which alone signifies togetherness. When grafted onto –laborare, col- hybridizes into colaborare, or collaboration. And so the root col- is collaboration’s potential, always anticipating activity. |
