Josephine Wilson

BA Acting graduate

I’m so excited to see where my career goes next, knowing I have had training which has armed me for the wonderful and unpredictable life of a performer.

Since graduating I've worked for companies such as Taking Flight Theatre and Tin Shed Theatre. I also work a lot in the West Midlands, performing in 'The Polar Express' in Birmingham and 'One Man Two Guvnors' at the Courtyard Theatre in Hereford. I also work with young people in various capacities as well which I love!

I chose UWTSD because the course covered everything you could want when training to be an actor. UWTSD works with great industry professionals so I felt by studying there, I'd be in safe hands. I also loved the idea of moving to a lovely Welsh town by the sea!

On the course we studied a vast range of genres and disciplines. From Shakespeare to Musical Performance, Theatre in Education to Theatre of the Absurd, we really did cover all bases.

I'd say the best thing that prepared me for the industry was the professionals I worked with, some of which I continue to work with now. What was really special about my time at UWTSD was how it prepared me as an individual.

My confidence grew and grew over the three years I was there, and gave me the personal skills required to work in the industry.
